Kick Rocks?? Nah....

Good day everyone! Hope all dings you well! So my last blog spoke about challenges and facing our personal obstacles head on... No matter how big or small. I made a personal goal to face one of my own- Baking! It's not as Challenging as it is a bit "bland" for me. Not to say that bakers lead a boring life- just saying I need to dabble in it a little more to truly find my way into becoming a better, more well-rounded Chef! Having said in my previous blog that I wanted to create a guilt-free Chocolate cake[which I regret to inform you- I am slacking lol] Don't give up on me just yet! I'll come through , I promise! I did however Bake some Pretty Awesome Cupcakes for a Reveal-the-gender party :) They were a Hit!! Staying on the subject of Challenges and obstacles, I recently came across a quote that said "it's only a dream until you write it down, then it becomes a Goal" This truly resonated with me. Growing up I had many dreams- many of which I achieved or at least attempted. The older we get we tend to let fear stop us from dreaming. Stop us from trying. Why is it that we become more aware of our surroundings and less aware of our potential? Remember the saying "hard work and dedication pays off" ? Well, it still does! Don't let people, places, things, circumstances Cripple your dreams, desires, strength or passion! There will always be stones on your path- don't let it stop you from continuing your Journey, Don't kick it out of the way, your energy is better spent on you Goal! Simply Go Around it. The more rocks you have to go around the more experience you get at dodging negativity . Remember, Misery loves company. Look around you. If you have people [rocks] in your life who will hinder your Journey, Go around them. They are stagnant! If you are fortunate enough to have people around you who can help you through your journey, make sure you thank them- they can and will pick you up if a Rock makes you fall. Falling does NOT imply failure- becoming a Rock does! Alright people- keep on trucking!!! Hope I can share a recipe with you guys on the next blog!!!! Until next time!!! Have a great day!!!

Push your limits

Hey Ladies and Gents! I hope all finds you well!

as individuals we all have a "comfort zone" we like to rely on. Its a warm and cozy feeling that we get when we are in this zone because it is all too familiar, it is safe and its what we know.

Stepping outside of this comfy cushion is quite scary ; some even call it the "fear of the unknown"

In my opinion, if we aren't moving forward into that "unknown" we aren't living. We aren't growing to our fullest potential.
While taking things head-on can be empowering, the process we must undergo for the growth to actually take place can sometimes be grueling, painful, dark, but never permanent. We always come out on top!

I encourage you to try and conquer something you may have been dreading or have been putting on your hypothetical back burner for a while.Challenge big or small. Challenge yourself.
You may surprise yourself.

Every one who knows me knows I have a passion for Cooking that runs DEEP within me. Baking however, has quite the opposite effect on me.

Not to say I am incapable of baking, or that I look down upon it. Its just something I have never been excited by.
I am going to challenge myself to Bake an AMAZING recipe for my next blog post.
I'm not only going to bake just anything, but i will make sure it is something that i can really be proud of and fully stand behind it. I wouldn't have it any other way.

As I begin to take on my challenge, I encourage you to do the same.

Putting Spice back into my life

August 15th was my last blog post.

It makes me a little sad that I have neglected my passion for food for so long.
As we go through our lives, things come before us that may hinder our ability to continue to do what we love, but I woke up today with a hunger for life, my dreams and to fulfill my God-given purpose!

I’m getting back on the saddle. Cooking, blogging, letting my creativity flow, continuing my projects that have been “on hold” and I would love to have you with me through this journey! Stay tuned!!!

Ultimately, I have learned through these past six or so months that nothing is more important than your passion and purpose. Nothing should get in the way of the pursuit of your dreams.

That said, I would like to leave you with a link/website of a person that I really admire: http://healthyflame.com/

This is Chef Rich Rosado's website.

This Chef is my mentor, and has been one of the people in my culinary corner from day one and I’m blessed and thankful for his help. He’s an extraordinary Chef who is on his way to bigger and better things for food and the culinary world. Check it out!!!!!
Well I hope that you stay connected with my blog and I am excited to share what is to come!!!!
